I just installed Vista Beta 2 and downloaded latest Live Messenger. When I try to install messenger I get a dialog that the cabinet is corrupted or I am low on disk space/virtual memory.
Fresh install, around 170GB free. Virtual memory set to auto.
Any ideas?

Can not install Windows Live Messenger, corrupted cabinet/lo
Andreas,
I have successfully installed Live Messenger on Beta 2 and 5456 without any problems. Based on your notes about available memory disk space, I would suspect that your Live Messenger download is corrupted. Try downloading it again and let us know how it went.

I have been able to validate that the file is corrupted. I download a fresh copy and it gets corrupted again. I had not installed anything at that point except updates fro vista.
All other downloads has been ok, so far.
My problem is not installing but download live messenger. http://g.msn.com/1csbeta/Mess80_EN

I downloaded via http://messenger.msn.com instead.
I had some troubles as I wanted to download the english version instead of the dutch and had to change my regional settings briefly to get the version I wanted. It seems to ignore to IE language settings.
I also contacted Live support about the broken download and was gives links to the download. I have not tried them but you can maybe try...
http://g.msn.com/1csbeta/Mess80_EN http://g.msn.com/1csbeta/Mess80_NL
first english, other dutch. You can replace the EN/NL with the country code of the language that you would like.

It's not just Vista - I have the same issue with the download on WXP SP2. Brand new PC too! I got the link from MSN's homepage.
Trying it from messenger.msn.com now...
I had the same error when downloading it from the prompt that messenger gave me to upgrade. It worked fine when I got it directly from the msn site though
